Maktaba at the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi will launch a new back-to-school program this month.
About the program
Objectives
This initiative will mix learning and pleasure, with the goal of inspiring children’s creative and analytical talents. Therefore, the focus is to motivate students to read, to explore the world of literature and knowledge.
Shaikha Mohamed Almehairi, library management department director at DCT, Abu Dhabi, said:
“By building core reading and research competencies at an early age, we open new frontiers of knowledge development and ensure that our children are prepared for a lifetime of successful learning.”
Mode of operating
The program will be held online via Microsoft Teams until October 30. As a consequence, children across the Emirate will be allowed to attend all events and activities.
Who can attend?
The classes are open for students of all ages, regardless of the educational institution they attend. Thus, private or public school students, educational centers students as well as charitable centers students are all enabled to join the program.
Activities, techniques, and preparations
The new back-to-school program provides 32 workshops managed by DCT, Abu Dhabi’s Dar Al Kutub sector. Also, the program is equipped with the latest educational methods and the discussions and activities are held by professional mentors.
Shaikha Mohamed Almehairi said as well:
“Through its various components, the back-to-school program will also bolster the teaching skills of faculty members, enabling them to keep pace with the latest educational methods to best equip them to educate and inspire our future generations.”
Zayed Central Library and Khalifa Park Library and Al Bahia Library will be involved too in this project by both holding five workshops. Al Wathba Library and Al Marfa Library will as well host twelve workshops in order to support this initiative.
More specifically, these workshops focus on therapeutic writing, developing teaching abilities, and identifying students’ talents.
