Abu Dhabi’s culture is evolving in a surprising way: The National Geographic Park is opened to stimulate the will of the new generations, being at the same time a place for entertainment with educational connotations.

The region’s first National Geographic Park incorporates improved virtual reality through an artificial environment with the help of 3D technologies to provide utterly captivating experiential learning, especially for families and children.

Location and attractions

The National Geographic Park is situated on Level 2 at The Galleria Al Maryah Island, Abu Dhabi’s most renowned attraction for leisure life, opened officially for the public on September 30.

During the exceptional opening weekend, qualified quests could apply to earn an annual family pass, which enables them unrestricted access for the whole year.

There, the visitors will be able to access a variety of areas that comprise a universe of experiences: at Space Jump, they will explore the beauty and mystery of the galaxy, at Terra Studio, people are challenged to manage nature’s overwhelming powers, or they can attempt to National Geographic Ultimate Explorer’s latest attraction, Wild River Recon.

National Geographic Ultimate Explorer is thought in order to make the universe of National Geographic approachable to all guests. Being cooperation between three companies, namely National Geographic, Spacetoon, and IP20 Operations Ltd, the alliance honors a common vision of duty for the future generation, as well as offering remarkable moments for the region’s population.

Conditions and measures against COVID-19

To ensure an environment in which maintaining health has priority, a set of rules must be followed.

All attendees must pass a temperature verification before entering, as well as wear a face mask and gloves at all times, preserve a two-meter distance, and use disinfectant before, during, and after each occurrence.

The workers are required to sterilize all gear after each usage to prevent the virus from spreading and to ensure optimal protection and healthcare for the families.

This project encourages people, especially children, to survey the world and to realize how it feels to be an astronaut, a biologist, a scientist – and above all, an explorer.
